Do I need to do anything to my wig or hairpiece when it arrives?

Each style of wig / hair piece comes set in its own style, as seen on our website. When you take your piece out of its bag, give it a shake, as it has been dispatched to you gently sitting in its plastic bag it needs so be shaken to bring it to life.

On receiving your wig, to achieve the best looks we advise the following:

A tight or ringlet curly style
Give the hairpiece / wig a good shake and gently lift and separate curls with your fingers.

Wavy with loose curls
Give it a good shake, and if you wish, lightly comb using short lifting strokes, just enough to relax and shape your style.

fluff style or soft curls ( especially back and sides)
Give it a good shake, and with short upward strokes, lightly comb away from your face.

Straight
Give it a good shake, and lightly brush with long, even strokes, from the crown to the ends for a smooth, sleek look.

How do I best store my wig?

It is very important, if you want your synthetic hair to last a long time, that you make sure it is stored well. We suggest that either you keep it either on a wigstand or packed up in the mesh and bag that it was originally sent out in. Also, after wearing your hair, it is very important that you gently comb it out with a wide-toothed comb before storing it - anything you can do to avoid it tangling will help prolong its life. If you have a conditioning spray, after combing, spray the hair ends and leave on a stand to dry.

Brushing

You can brush the pieces using either a paddle brush or a wide tooth comb. Always brush very gently.. You can use hair clips, bobbles and headbands on your wigs and hair pieces. You can also use hair spray if you wish.

If you take care of your wig / hair piece the style can last up to one year.

Although not absolutely necessary we do suggest purchasing a conditioning spray. This can really help to prolong the life of your wig. All you need to do is to spray the ends of the piece once or twice a week.

Can wigs be styled?

DO NOT use strong heated appliances on our non-heat-resistant range of wigs and hair pieces as they are NOT heat proof. This doesn't mean you can't have fun and play around with other types of styling. Here are some ideas.

Heat resistant collection

 hair straighteners

120°C Max Temp

We have some wigs and hairpieces that can be heat styled using temperatures up to 120 degrees.

When you style your wig or hair piece, please make sure your heated styling tools do not exceed temperatures of 120 degrees.

You can either use hair straighteners, heated rollers or tongs to style this type of hair. To straighten your piece, set your straighteners to 120c and run the appliance from the crown of the hair to the tip (just as you would your own hair). The most effective way to curl your products is to set the hair with heated curlers, wait for them to completely cool then roll them out, to reveal the curls.

Can wigs get wet?

YES, cool water will not damage your wig.  Now, with synthetic hair the style is “baked in” and once it dries, the hair will go right back to its original shape. With our heat resistant range, however, you may need to reset the style after the hair gets wet.

Can wigs be washed?

YES, we advise people to wash their wig every 7 to 10 times they wear it. This applies to human or synthetic. You can tell when they need washing; they start lose their shape, the color can look dull and make-up can accumulate around the hair line of the wig. Now, if you only wear your wig once in a while, then for you maybe only wash it every few weeks or monthly.

If you want to wash the pieces then please see our how to wash page.

Can wigs be cut?

Yes, you can get your wig trimmed - the fibres are a little thicker than human hair so you will need a decent pair of scissors. Read our advice on our how to cut page.
